Privacy Policy
Introduction
This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the AI Educational Demos. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws. The only data collection services used on this website are Cloudflare and Plausible Analytics, both of which prioritize privacy and minimize data collection.
Data Collection
Cloudflare
We use Cloudflare to enhance the security and performance of our website. As part of its services, Cloudflare may process limited technical data, such as:
- IP addresses
- HTTP request headers
- Network metadata (e.g., protocol information like TCP/UDP)
This data is collected to:
- Mitigate Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks
- Provide traffic visibility
- Ensure secure and efficient content delivery
Cloudflare does not use cookies or track users across websites. It processes this data on our behalf in compliance with GDPR and other applicable laws. For more details, please refer to Cloudflare's privacy practices (opens in new tab).
Plausible Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to understand website traffic trends without compromising visitor privacy. Plausible operates without cookies and does not collect personal or identifiable information. The data collected is entirely anonymous and includes:
- Aggregated page views
- Referring websites
- Browser types
- Device types
Plausible ensures compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations by adhering to principles of data minimization and pseudonymization.
Demo-Specific Data Handling
Important Notice:
Tokenization Demo
This tokenization demonstration operates entirely within your browser:
- No data transmission: The text you enter for tokenization is processed entirely within your browser and is never sent to our servers or any third-party services.
- Local processing only: All tokenization calculations occur locally using JavaScript libraries loaded in your browser.
- No storage: Neither your input text nor tokenization results are logged, stored, or retained anywhere.
- Privacy by design: This demo was specifically designed to require no API keys or external services to ensure maximum privacy.
Embeddings Visualization Demo
This demonstration uses the OpenAI API to generate embeddings for visualization purposes:
- OpenAI API usage: Text input is sent to OpenAI's API to generate word embeddings that are then visualized in the interactive scatterplot.
- No logging by us: Neither your text input nor the generated embeddings are logged, stored, or retained by us for any purpose whatsoever.
- Direct communication: Your text is sent directly to OpenAI's API without any intermediate storage or processing on our servers.
- Third-party processing: While we do not log your interactions, please note that OpenAI may have their own data handling practices. We recommend reviewing OpenAI's privacy policy (opens in new tab) for information about their data handling.
- Local visualization: Once embeddings are received, all visualization processing occurs entirely in your browser and is not transmitted back to our servers.
Confidence Visualization Demo
This application facilitates interactions with AI models through the OpenRouter service. We want to be completely transparent about how your AI interactions are handled:
- No logging by us: Neither your submissions to the AI model nor the AI's responses are logged, stored, or retained by us for any purpose whatsoever.
- Direct communication: Your messages are sent directly to the AI model through OpenRouter's API without any intermediate storage or processing on our servers.
- Third-party processing: While we do not log your AI interactions, please note that OpenRouter and the underlying AI model providers may have their own data handling practices. We recommend reviewing OpenRouter's privacy policy (opens in new tab) for information about their data handling.
- Local processing only: Any processing of AI responses (such as confidence highlighting) occurs entirely in your browser and is not transmitted back to our servers.
How We Use Data
The limited data collected via Cloudflare and Plausible Analytics is used solely for the following purposes:
- Ensuring website security and availability
- Understanding general usage patterns to improve the educational experience
- Optimizing website performance and loading times
We do not use this data for advertising, tracking, or any commercial purposes beyond improving our educational tools.
Data Retention
Data processed by Cloudflare and Plausible Analytics follows their respective retention policies:
- Cloudflare: Security logs are typically retained for up to 30 days
- Plausible Analytics: Anonymous aggregate data is retained for up to 2 years for trend analysis
We do not independently store or retain any user data.
Your Rights
Given the minimal and anonymous nature of data collection, most traditional data rights (access, rectification, erasure) are not applicable since we cannot identify individual users from the collected data. However, you have the right to:
- Opt out of analytics by using browser privacy settings or ad blockers
- Contact us with any privacy-related questions or concerns
